7 million people of working age with a disability or a long term health conditions. ONly 50% are in work

The Importance of Building a Neuroinclusive Workplace

There are seven million people of working age with a disability or a long-term health condition in the UK, yet only half of these are in work.

There is a strong social and ethical case for building inclusive workplaces; it also makes great business sense. With increasing job vacancies and an ageing workforce, ensuring that your organisation can effectively attract and retain talent from all parts of society will set you apart from your competitors.

Who and How do we support?

Our team has extensive experience working with organisations and employees in a range of sectors including energy, publishing, retail, technology, and financial services. We also supply our workplace adjustments, assistive technology (software and hardware), awareness training and strategy coaching to Government departments and organisations.

We support organisations with;

  • Inclusive recruitment practices/policies – attracting and retaining neurodivergent and disabled candidates.
  • Implementing neuroinclusive policies and best practices.
  • Increasing rates of employee disclosure.
  • Raising awareness of disability and neurodiversity internally.
  • Breaking down barriers.
  • Embedding inclusion into their practices, policies and culture.
  • Supporting their managers to better understand their neurodivergent and disabled team members’ needs, creating inclusive teams, and providing advice and awareness sessions on how to navigate challenging situations and conversations.

Under the Equality Act (2010), employers must make ‘reasonable adjustments’ to ensure disabled employees are not substantially disadvantaged when doing their jobs. This can apply to anyone with long-term health conditions, mental health difficulties, neurodifferences, sensory difficulties, and physical impairments.

We support you to exceed the legal requirements of the Equality Act

We do this by providing you with the practical tools to embed neuroinclusion in the workplace culture, policy, and practice. We also provide coaching and training for managers better to understand neurodivergent and disabled team members’ needs.

We’ve worked together for several years now – neurobox are an incredibly versatile organisation and our colleagues always feel heard and validated by the support they give.
