Hearing Impairment Assistive Technology Training
Over the years, we’ve built a team of specialists within our training department, each experienced in the setup and use of assistive technology for the hearing impaired. This team allows us to offer and deliver a holistic, person-centred training service, ensuring our hard-of-hearing clients can thrive in the workplace and beyond.
Why do Hard-of-hearing employees need assistive technologies?
Employees who are hard of hearing often experience a range of challenges and barriers within the workplace and beyond. The assistive technologies available are vital for ensuring these employees can overcome barriers and thrive in an inclusive environment.
These assistive technologies for the hard of hearing are essential for:
Productivity
Increasing the productivity of employees who are hard of hearing by reducing difficulties with note-taking or participating in meetings/discussions.
Accessibility
Enhancing employees’ access to information, such as live-captioning, ensuring information during calls or presentations is not missed.
Legal Compliance
Ensures legal compliance by ensuring employers meet accessibility requirements set out by the Equality Act 2010.
Communication
Improves employee communication using systems transmitting clear audio and speech directly to the user.
How is our assistive technology training delivered?
We offer dedicated one‑to‑one training sessions for hard‑of‑hearing software and equipment, with flexible options of 1‑hour or 3‑hour blocks to suit individual needs.
Like our other training services, we understand everyone learns in their own way, which is why technology training can be delivered both remotely and on-site, depending on our clients’ preferences:
-
Remote (Online)
This training is completed via Microsoft teams with one of our trainers. This method can offer increased levels of flexibility and convenience.
-
On-site (Face-To-Face)
This training is completed in-person, with one of our trainers travelling to an agreed location to deliver the session. This method can offer a more interactive session with fewer distractions.

Captioning/Transcription Software |
Captioning and Transcription software bring benefits by providing users with a simple yet effective tool to convert spoken content (live or recorded) into a written format.
These software packages are often useful for pre-recorded videos, as well as virtual or live meetings, where the hard-of-hearing client may not be able to access every piece of information through the use of standard hearing aids.

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs)/Physical Devices for the Hearing Impaired |
