Do you have a ‘lightbulb moment’ when everything made sense?

Everything started to make sense during the lock down where I decided to go on a journey to find out exactly what dyslexia is. This is where it clicked that I actually didn’t know much and years laters I’m fully invested in the rabbit hole.

What are your strengths and challenges?

My biggest strengths are my creativity and the ability to tell stories to pretty much anyone. This has been key in my career as I’m always creating content to make employability fun but informative. As well talking to everyone from young people, adults and stakeholders.

What are your top tips or tricks for the workplace?

“My biggest tip is to be authentic while working.”

We aren’t going to be great at everything but if the workplace supports you then your in the right place.

If you don’t get the support that job wasn’t for you and you will find a better fit somewhere else. Because our skills work amazing in the workplace.

My other tip would be don’t be afraid to ask for help. Neurodivergent condition or not if you’re struggling just ask as your colleagues are there to help.

Your proudest moment

This is a hard question to answer but I would say being able to give a TED Talk this year. I’m all about spreading the awareness of dyslexia and to be able to do it on a platform as big as TED makes me proud. The more people who understand and see dyslexia will help us to change the stereotypes.
