Disability Employment Select Committee Hearing

Earlier in the year we submitted evidence, along with our partners at Coventry University, to The Work and Pensions Select Committee inquiry into the challenges that disabled people face regarding employment.

We are pleased to announce that the team has been invited to give oral evidence to a cross-party committee of MPs, on Wednesday 1st May. You can watch the proceedings live on Parliamentlive.tv from 9:25am. MPs will hear from a range of disability charities, employment support specialists and academics. Our research partner, Dr Christine Grant, will discuss how remote working has impacted disability employment.

Research into online psychometric barriers

Our Head of Research, Dr. Deborah Leveroy has been invited to join the advisory board for an ESRC-funded Digital Futures at Work Research Centre project exploring how online recruitment methods can be made clear, accessible and fair for applicants from neurodivergent groups. The project is entitled “Overcoming online psychometric barriers: Assessing the employment potential of neurodivergent candidates in a fair, inclusive and accessible way.”

The project is a Knowledge Exchange Partnership project between Clevry UK, a leading psychometrics test publisher and the Digital Futures at Work Research Centre (Digit), University of Sussex [grant number ES/S012532/1]. Deborah will advise on the project design and employer guidance.
